Bachchan Panday's Box-Office Clash With Lal Singh Chaddha: Akshay Kumar Finally Reacts

Akshay Kumar is on a roll. The actor who’s gearing up for the release of Mission Mangal, is currently on a promotional spree for the same film. Mission Mangal, which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, and Sharman Joshi among others is slated to release of Aug 15. Just a few days back, Akshay had taken to social media to share the first look poster of his upcoming next Bachchan Pandey. With the poster the actor also announced the release date of Bachchan Pandey, which is Christmas 2020, setting up a clash with Aamir Khan starrer Lal Singh Chaddha.

During his recent interview with Mumbai Mirror, when Khiladi Kumar was asked about his upcoming film Bachchan Pandey clashing with Aamir Khan starrer Lal Singh Chaddha. He said, “We have 52 Fridays in a year and even fewer holiday weekends. We make over 200 Hindi films a year while Hollywood releases 40 more and then there’s the South industry and other regional cinema. So, we should be happy if we have two big releases in a week. This year, on the Independence Day weekend we had three, ( Mission Mangal, Batla House, and Saaho) till one bowed out.”

In the same interview, he also said women are better than men. He said, “The message of the film is that women are not just equal but better and more powerful than men. When Mangalyaan happened, my wife (Twinkle Khanna) had written that it was called MOM (Mars Orbiter Mission) for a reason. Had it been called DAD, it would still be on earth. I used that line in the film too and want parents to watch it with their children. Because some think certain jobs can only be done by men. Sadly, many of our text books feature comparatively lesser women and it’s time to break this stereotype. Our Finance Minister who was the Defence Minister earlier, is a lady, Nirmala Sitharaman.”
